I seem to go through phases when I have a lot of time to update this blog, and other phases where life gets so crazy that there’s just not time.
So for some Price family updates.
Since the last time I’ve written much, we’ve accomplished a lot, or at least it seemed like a lot. Russ reroofed the whole backside of our garage, 9 square of shingles, the front half is still waiting, but it wasn’t is as bad of shape.
We’ve painted and repainted the dining room, it’s almost finished – hopefully this weekend, and purchased paint for most of the other rooms in the house. The drywall that our wonderful dogs tore up is all fixed and they seem to be leaving it alone this time.
Our garden is all planned and ordered, and we’ve even decided to try creating a small orchard and it’s planned and ordered, but we still have to clean out the clearing for it. Russ doesn’t want to clear it out too long before the trees come and are ready to be planted because the clearing is close to the road and he’s afraid people will think it’s a back road and try to drive through it. We’re working on a solution to this problem, that won’t look either tacky – like Keep Out signs, or be missed by possible trespassers (for lack of better word), like my idea of just planting ground cover in front of it.
We’ve found a man to carve the big rock at the end of the driveway, and planned what we want carved on it. He should be getting to it soon, but we’re in no hurry because that rock isn’t going anywhere, but are excited to see what’s it’s going to look like when it’s finished.
The dogs are doing wonderful with the electric fence, and we no longer even have to use the inhouse unit, as they won’t go in the dining room even if we take their collars off. It’s been weeks since they’ve tested their boundaries outside too. We honestly think it’s the best thing we’ve done for the boys. It’s so nice to watched them run and play together without knocking everything in the house over. We’ve even installed a baby/dog gate on the kitchen to avoid the muddy paws on the carpet, and it’s working well. Although I do have to say finding a gate to fit an opening over 50 inches is dang near impossible (We finally found one at Trader Horn in Clarion), and when you do it’s quite expensive, but not as expensive as new carpet.
Well, I had better wrap this up, I just got a call informing me that two of my nieces have decided that they want to spend the afternoon at Aunt Haley’s house, so they are due to arrive any minute. Well, at least it will make Ariana happy.
