We are always looking for a way to organize our huge DVD collection. Due to the lack of storage space, we usually throw out the original packaging (or store it empty in our garage attic) and put our DVDs in binders. But trying to find the movie you want to watch is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
So today, I searched online for ways to organize an out of control DVD collection and came up with this:
MovieCollectorPlus – A website that lets you build your movie database online, and give each movie a number that corresponds. You then print out your list and put your DVDs in order in your binders. You can then find the exact DVD you are looking for by referring to your list, or simply logging into the website and searching your collection. (Accounts with MovieCollectorPlus are free!)
Another advantage of the website is that it also shows you the original case cover, and a brief description of the movie. Which is very helpful, as we often don’t remember what a DVD is about by just looking at the disc. I can’t wait to get started, and finally be able to find the disc we are looking for, or remember what a certain movie is about without having to watch part of it!
