The Bear Update!

Bear has settled in nicely with us.  He’s been such a good boy, he just doesn’t realize how big he is!  He tries to jump up on my lap, when I’m sitting at my desk, just like the other dogs do, but he and I don’t fit together in my chair.

David immediately fell in love with him, and has been begging us to keep him permanently.  We found a better solution though!  David’s dad has one dog, and needs a playmate for him, so tomorrow Bear is going to go there and meet Magic, the rottweiler puppy.  David is really hoping they get along, because they’re about the same size, then Magic will have a playmate, and David will get to keep Bear (at his dad’s house.)

He’s such a friendly boy, and is getting much more playful as he becomes more comfortable with us.  He didn’t even fuss last night at bed time.  And spent a good part of the evening in front of the fire with Russ rubbing his belly.  He loves the kids, and is trying to like the other dogs.  Jack, Lewy and Woobie are half afraid of him, because of his size, I think, but they all try to play together.  Ariana has been enjoying playing fetch with him, as our boys have lost interest in that game.

Bear also loves to go outside for walks, and he doesn’t even drag me along behind anymore, he rarely pulls on the leash at all.  He justs walks along content at your side.  He’ll make someone a great companion, we’re hoping that he gets to stay at David’s father’s house tomorrow, he’s just the kind of dog they need!  Magic and he are about the same age, and approximately the same size.  They both have the same type of laid back, but playful attitudes too.  Although I think Magic may be a tad lazier than Bear, as every time Dawn brings him out she has to lift him back into the blazer, he just refuses to jump in on his own.
