Accident Prone?

I shouldn’t be surprised, it runs in the family. My mom is always falling down, or getting hurt somehow. She even once got her head caught in a moving ceiling fan, word to the wise – don’t turn on the fan, no matter how hot it is, when you’re painting the ceiling that said fan is attached to. I’m the one whom got so caught up in dog leashes so many times that I have permanent scars wrapping around both ankles, I’m also the one that fell off the porch while holding the dog leashes, all because the boys saw David walking up the path before I did. Thanks god the bush beside the old porch caught me…

So why does it amaze me so, the injuries that Ariana gets. She’s only six, yet she’s had about six black eyes, the latest being at Christmas time from hitting her head on Neenie’s glass end table. Her legs are constantly covered in black and blue marks, lately due mostly to her fascination with trying to hop on all the big stones that line our driveway. I swear we could put her into a padded room, and she’d still manage to get hurt somehow!

Today’s injury, apparently wasn’t too bad, as she failed to report it to me until about four hours after it happened, and I have a hard time believing it actually happened. She came to me just a little bit ago and claimed that while she was playing outside this morning a bug flew into her mouth and bit her on the tongue. While I do believe it’s quite possible that she did manage to get a bug in her mouth, I can hardly believe that it actually bit her tongue, or that if it did she didn’t come running immediately to the house screaming horribly, like she does for every other little bump or bruise.

I wonder if it’s possible to get her a plastic bubble – you know, kind of like the one on the Bubble boy movie with Heather Graham? 5572_107696697126_544332126_2548184_2805935_n
