It’s yet another Monday morning, the house is cleaned, the kids are off to school, and it’s time for me to sit down and work. Where did the weekend go?
Russ spent most of it over at Billy and Jamie’s helping to prepare the babies room for their coming home, which could happen as early as today.
I spent the weekend working, playing with the kids and cleaning. Housekeeping is a never ending, thankless job!
Today someone from the modular home factory is supposed to be coming to work on the house, but I don’t have a clue what he is going to be doing. Russ handles all of that. I know he talked them into coming to fix all of our trim, where you can clearly see the seams in it. I believe he’s convinced them to fix the horrible carpet seam in the hallway, that was done at the factory, the seams that the set crew did look wonderful, but the one done before the house was set is less than nice, and it’s in a very high traffic area. But I don’t see how they’re going to fix it without laying all new carpet in my living room. And I think they’re going to recaulk the windows because during the extreme cold weather the caulking was getting frost on it. But I don’t know for sure, that’s just all the stuff Russ has talked about.
I just can’t wait until they’re done for good, and everything is as it should have been in the first place. Then we can start painting and making it into a real home. All white gets boring after four and a half months. Especially when it’s flat paint, so everytime I wash the walls I wash more paint off of them. In the places where the kids and/or dogs tend to leave finger/paw prints it’s almost down to the drywall already.
Then the dealership still has to finish my drywall, the last time they came up to work on it, the guy did a horrible job. I told them at that point if that was all the better job they could do, then to just bring me the materials and I’d do it myself. Even David could have done a better job than that. They also have to fix some loose siding and fix a hole under the house.
It’s just getting tiring having them come back a hundred times, and still not do what they’re supposed to do. We’re to the point where we would never recommend either the dealership, or the housing manufacturer to anyone! But the dealership is the worst! We should have done our homework on them just a little better, I guess!
