I’m horrible at very dirty clothes. I can do normal laundry, no problem, we don’t have anything pink that shouldn’t be or anything like that.
But anything that gets a stain on it, tends to keep that stain for the rest of it’s life. If it is a favored item, I’ll take into my grandma, and she fixes it for me.
Lately with the water problems we’ve been having, washing whites and light colored clothing is a nightmare. I always check the water before I attempt to do a load, then I let the water fill the machine completely before adding the clothes. It’s the rinse cycle that gets me though. It never fails to ruin whatever item happens to be under it when it’s filling up.
So today I tried to bleach a load of whites that had all at one time or another ended up under the water. Guess what – they turned yellow! Now what?
Any hints on getting whites whiter would be greatly appreciated, by both me and probably my grandmother. I’m sure she’s tired of fixing my mistakes laundry wise.

Haley, I have done that before and what it was is that the detergent and bleach didn’t have time to mix well with the water before clothes were added. I hate to say but there is no way to fix it. I had to trash all of it. Sorry to hear that happened. I know I felt pissed off that I had to throw away everything and then buy new. Good luck.
I love checking your blog everyday and seeing new. You are now my inspiration to writing more often. Thank you
That sucks, they didn’t look too bad after being rewashed and dried. We lost one of David’s shirts, but I did manage to salvage Ariana’s turtlenecks.
I’m glad I can inspire somebody!
I completely agree. That is exactly how I see it. Thanks!
