Finally, A Full Day

Time For ChangeThe kids have finally had a full day of school, the first in over a week now.  Today has seemed so long because of it.  Having them here and extra two hours in the morning really makes the day feel like it goes fast.

Of course yesterday wasn’t a great day to begin with. As David was waiting for the bus, I was working, when Ariana yelled for me.  I jumped up to go see what she needed and when I got back and sat back down, I realized that during the two minutes I was up, something happened to my computer monitor.   Just as I realized that, David came back in the house, he had stepped outside just in time to see the bus pull out of the driveway.

As there’s no way to drive him to school and have Ariana back in time to catch her bus, driving him means that I have to sit around Brookville for over an hour.  Tuesday through Friday this wouldn’t be bad, as she and I love to go to the library.  Unfortunately the library is closed on Mondays.  Besides, I had bigger problems, not having a monitor on my computer puts me out of work.

As I was trying to figure out what to do, I remembered that the van driver told me the last time David missed the bus, that if it happens again, he can catch Wendy with the big bus and she’ll drop him off at the high school after she drops off the elementary kids.

So he jumped on the van with his sister when it came for her, and Dori took him to meet the big bus.  He said it was weird riding to school with the little kids for a change, and that they all stared at him like he had two heads.  I told him they just forgot who he was, since it’s been a while since he rode the elementary buses.

After the kids were off, I spent the morning tearing apart my computer monitor cleaning it and trying to resurrect it.  Of course during this time, I had dragged out the monitor from Ariana’s computer to use, just in case.  After two and a half hours, I finally had my own monitor turning back on!  It was the highlight of my day!  I hate change, especially when it comes to my computer!

The kids have great new  seventeen inch , wide screen, flat screen monitors, which at first, after they got them for Christmas, I thought I liked better than my own.  But after working on one for the morning, I was sure missing my big, non wide screen one.  Now I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that it stays on and doesn’t kick the bucket on me again!
