They Took Pity on Us!

polar hellMy parents are once again supposed to be leaving today for North Carolina, and the warmer weather, it’s been nearly a week since they started trying, but I think today’s the day!

Last night they stopped up to give me their paperwork, and they took pity on us poor folk remaining here at the north pole, and they left us custody of the backhoe!  Yea!

Most families share recipes, and small stuff like that, my family shares heavy equipment!  But it’s a good thing, when you have a lane as long as ours and keep getting a foot of snow dumped on you, the backhoe makes it much less physical work to clear the drive.  Now, we do have to share it with Heather and Greg, but that’s not too bad.  At least Russ won’t have to spend hours of back breaking labor trying to keep it so that we can get out of the driveway.

Now, if only I could get him to fix the garage door so that I can open it myself.  He keeps trapping my durango in there, knowing full well that I can’t get it out because the garage door is messed up.  But I guess that’s life!  And when the roads are as bad as they have been for more than a week now, I’m not very inclined to go anywhere anyway!
