Our Little Pool Resident

This little frog is determined to live in our swimming pool, no matter how many times we try to relocate him, he just keeps coming back.  He changes color to more closely match his surroundings, and when he sits on his favorite pool toy, a white beachball, he turns a sickly gray color.

Her report on the end of first grade:

It reads:

I had a great year in first grade.  One of the things I learned was phonics and spelling.  I also learned about math.  My favorite parts of first grade were going to the weather station and phonics.

I’m so glad our school does both fall and spring pictures, at least for the elementary schools. (The high school doesn’t do spring pictures.)

Some people read one book at a time. Some people have a number of them on the go at any given time, perhaps a reading in bed book, a breakfast table book, a bathroom book, and so on, which leads me to…

1. Are you currently reading more than one book? No, it would confuse me too much.
2. If so, how many books are you currently reading? One
   
3. Is this normal for you? Yes
   
4. Where do you keep your current reads? Usually within an arm’s reach of where ever I am at the moment, I carry it from room to room with me, and usually take it along when I go somewhere. Hmmm…  Some people might call that an addiction.

I can’t believe how much they’ve grown up!

(I had a really cute picture of Ariana and the boys on my camera for today, but my camera somehow made it into Russ’s car. I’ll probably never see it again, I think small children have been lost in that mess.)

Tuesday Tip Jar

Scott’s Liquid Gold Wood Cleaner and Preservative works wonders on old wood furniture.  David had a beat up old dresser in his bedroom that we were just sure that we would have to paint or refinish before using it elsewhere, because it was so worn looking, washing it down and then cleaning with the liquid gold brought it back to life.

It restores the shine, and keeps the wood from drying out and cracking.  We use it at least monthly on our antiques.
